Singer Laura Meyer warmed up the crowd at The Raven Cafe April 8, when she opened for Kasey Anderson. Meyer is busy on tour, where the Raven show was one of 18 gigs she'll play this month. Her most recent album, "Miles From Nowhere," recorded in August 2009, is packed with 20 original tracks.

Meanwhile, pianist Lexi Rindone and vocalist Chelsea Soto, both winners of the Yavapai Symphony Guild's Young Musicians Competition, performed at the Prescott Adult Center on Tuesday. Soto will be performing in "Guys & Dolls" with Young Star Musical Theater later this month. Rindone plays the piano every Saturday evening at Bada Beanz Cafe on Gurley Street.
