Sunday, July 28, 4 p.m. at the Centennial Center on the Antelope Hills Golf Course: Lazy Summer Daze, a benefit for the Mountain Artists Guild. Enjoy appetizers, wine and desserts by Chef Joel Sugahara and cool jazz by the Larry Kantor Trio. Tickets are $35 each or $250 for a table of eight, available at the gallery, 228 N. Sunday, July 28, 1 p.m. at the Gurley Street Sports Pub: The pub folks are collecting school supplies and coats for kids affected by the Yarnell Hill Fire. Music by Rah Dog, Muddbone, Muddgroove, Sky Daddy & the Pop Rocks and more TBA. A ggod time for a good cause.

Saturday, Aug. 3, 6 p.m. at The Saturday, Aug. 3, at The Windsock Lounge, 1365 Iron Springs Road in Prescott: A Benefit for Brendan McDonough. Live music by Knucklebone and a chance to help out the 20th hero from the Granite Mountain Hotshots.



Friday, Aug. 9 at the Prescott Center for the Arts, KDDL, "Cattle Country" radio presents the local Texaco Country Showdown competition. Someone could become the next country star by winning this competition and advancing to the state contest and beyond. Saturday, Aug. 17, 7:30 p.m. at the Prescott Center for the Arts. The Folk Sessions and PCA present New York duo Barnaby Bright, at the Highlands Center for Natural History. Nathan and Rebecca Bliss have been touring worldwide since the release of their debut album, "Wake the Hero," in 2009. It's Indie-Folk at its finest, a night you won't want to forget.
